Touring William Kentridge installation at the Arsenale Institute — synchronised multi-channel projection in a historic Venetian space.
Venice is one of the hardest cities in the world to install in — historic buildings, water at the doorstep, every piece of kit arriving by boat, and protected interiors you cannot drill into. A synchronised multi-channel Kentridge piece in the Arsenale Institute had to thread all of that.
We pre-planned the install down to the crate, worked entirely with free-standing and reversible rigging, and locked the channels to a single timecode so the work held together perfectly in a space that fought it at every turn. The building was returned untouched.
