Yorkshire Sculpture Park — William Kentridge

William Kentridge’s installations are large, layered and unforgiving of approximation — charcoal worlds that sweep across multiple surfaces in perfect time. Bringing that work into the heritage galleries at Yorkshire Sculpture Park meant fitting an exacting multi-channel piece into rooms that were never designed for it.

We mapped projection to the existing architecture rather than building it out, kept cabling and hardware out of sight in protected spaces, and locked every channel to a single timecode so the piece reads as one continuous gesture. Touring work like this lives or dies on repeatability: it has to look identical in Wakefield as it did in its last venue, and set up cleanly for the next.
